6. Attire

Cocktail attire means wearing something more elevated than semi-formal attire but less dressy than formal attire. A suit and tie or well-tailored blazer and dress pants are preferable, while jumpsuits and mini, knee-length, and midi dresses are great options. 

Semi-formal wedding attire is dressier than casual attire but not as dressy as formal attire. Even though semi-formal is interchangeable with “dressy casual,” we don’t recommend wearing jeans to the wedding.


The entire celebration—including cocktail party, ceremony, dinner, and dancing—will take place indoors. 

Fall in the Hudson Valley is chilly at night (low temperatures around 45 degrees); we recommend having a warm jacket and scarf on hand if you step outside.
